It was my first time coming to Public Market in Emeryville and it was a cool spot with many food and drink options! I liked that they had pool, foosball, and other games there, it definitely made it a very family friendly spot. I chose to eat from Jayna Gyro, and I got a beef and lamb bowl with fries and pita. My brother ordered for me before I got there, so I didn't realize that the fries were really just roasted potatoes. That was my biggest gripe with the bowl, but I enjoyed everything else. The beef and lamb was thinly sliced with good seasoning and flavor. It was pretty tender and juicy and went well with their cabbage slaw. I liked how fresh everything tasted, from the slaw, to the tomato wedge, to the tzatziki, and the meat of course. The pita was standard, but was still good having a bite with everything else. The potatoes were just ok to me (maybe because I was expecting actual fries), but I did like the sauce they came with. My bf got the roasted chickpea lavash and he said it was okay, but needed more sauce to balance out all the chickpeas. Overall, it wasn't too bad for a quick meal and was relatively affordable too. Not sure I'd come back when there are so many other options to eat here.

This was my first time here so I asked for the chicken gyro. Everything about this item was delicious! I loved the spicy aioli they add to the gyro as i don't like much spice and there was only a little kick to it which was tolerable for me. The food was served quickly. I was also able to find a seat quickly too despite it being busy. My only criticism is that the pita bread was so soft that it was falling apart because of all the ingredients it was trying to hold together. In the grand scheme, this isn't even so bad and actually was also a blessing as i loved the texture and temperature. 5 stars for the chicken gyro!

i tried the lamb and beef gyro and it was solid. this gyro had a bunch of greens and is definitely lighter than other gyros i've tried which i liked. it also had the perfect amount of sauce so it didn't overwhelm the other flavors. even though we ordered ~30min before their closing time, the ingredients in our gyro still seemed pretty fresh. the lamb and beef were thinly cut and tasted good. i felt the pita bread tasted a little weird though and was slightly tough their water tasted interesting. we asked for water cups, and the water they gave tasted super metallic. maybe i'm just not used to oakland tap water though. we ended up just buying their $3 bottled water
